Orthodontics
The purpose of visiting a general dentist for orthodontic treatment is to undergo treatment to align your teeth into an esthetic smile and a well-functioning bite. For those who are self-conscious about their smile, the use of Invisalign or braces may improve how you feel about yourself. Here at Spruce Ridge Dental Centre, we want you to feel confident and comfortable with your smile, and we know that our orthodontic care can help you get there. Put simply, our orthodontic treatment can be an effective step towards obtaining the smile you've always dreamed of!
How the Treatment Works
The materials used for orthodontic appliances include clear plastic aligners, ceramic, and metal. These appliances can be bonded to the teeth or be removable, depending on the situation. Braces, for example, are bonded to the teeth and place a gentle and constant force, moving teeth into the proper position. Invisalign is a system of removable clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth.
The days of having only the choice of metal bands and brackets placed around each tooth are gone. Now, the options range from clear to metal brackets, and even the color of your appliance can be customized. The latest technologies have made the process quicker, more comfortable, and less noticeable. Invisalign, when suitable for the patient, is our primary treatment of choice. The path to a great smile is easier now than ever before!
Duration of the Treatment
Depending on your age, case, and treatment method, the process we offer can take anywhere between 5 months and two years. We have found our average treatment time for Invisalign to be around 12-24 months. One of the biggest factor’s for determining the length of the treatment is you, the patient. With diligent compliance in wearing your aligners you can make the process quicker, and more efficient. A meeting with one of our dentists will help you determine the length of time you can expect.
Before beginning treatments, our dentists will explain and help you to understand your options. When you contact our office to schedule an appointment, you will also have the opportunity to learn more about orthodontic procedures and Invisalign.
